Here’s the reason that I took the red-eye home from Seattle last night:
Today is Emmaline’s 6th Birthday! I can’t believe it, to be honest. Where has the time gone?
Emmaline is growing up so well. She is funny, smart, compassionate, and affectionate. She is such an asset to our family and I feel so lucky to have her in my life.
Tonight she picked Mexican for her birthday dinner, so we all enjoyed a nice dinner at Los Ranchos.
And one of me and Ernie on the drive home from dinner :)

tonight out-of-the-blue in the middle of FHE, emma shouts out "it's emmaline's birthday! we need to call her and sing to her!" and i was like, "who's emmaline?"
totally funny that she remembered. it was too late to call though.
